Emphasis is placed on presenting research results obtained on the material of bioarchaeological collections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The aim is to present the research potential of SAM\/SPM collections and to strengthen the dialogue between natural sciences, especially biology, and cultural or social sciences in order to obtain a complete historical picture. Preserved remains of humans, animals, and plants are important empirical sources that provide clues about, for example, the development of historical populations, animal and plant domestication and use, and historical environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Publisher:<\/strong> Freunde des Jura-Museums e.V. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The annual journal Archaeopteryx publishes geoscientific and bioscientific works about the region of the Southern Franconian Alb and the adjacent areas. A special focus is on the geology and paleontology of the Solnhofen plate limestones and their comparison with other plate limestone deposits. Archaeopteryx accepts contributions in English and German.
